Owens Valley Career Development Center had a ribbon cutting this month and is ready to get the word out on what they do! Owens Valley Career Development Center is dedicated to providing Native American Indians quality educational programs and opportunities. With the aid of older generation Native American Indians, they are able to teach the younger generations their Native languages for educational purposes and for preserving them culturally. From students to parents, skills such as basket weaving, agriculture, language and storytelling are being taught for future generations to enjoy and preserve. Owens core values are compassion, self sufficiency, respect, native culture, integrity, sovereignty, and generosity. This Tribal organization also provides career education, family literacy and temporary assistance services in the five California Counties of Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings and Tulare.
