The mixer Thursday night May 21st at Westamerica Bank was a great business social. The staff was warm and welcoming, and of course the eats were fantastic too. Ron Stumpf regularly takes it "on the chin" from Fresno Ambassadors for arriving late to our meetings, however he was quick to remind that he's never late "when it comes to clients or free food." He was among the first to arrive.
Between the mouths full of cake and chicken alfredo, G. Haven Young of Haven's Security spun yarns of surviving gunshot wounds, while Dale Bierce of Sandler Training was just trying to make sense of Jay Petersen's technical babble (what the heck IS a MALWARE?). The Haros from Pinnacle Telecommunications shared their stories of success and challenges in the world of structured cabling, and Linda Grubb, Entrepreneur was simply happy to enjoy the evening with some of Fresno's best business professionals. Bradley Bain from Kaiser Permanente skipped half-a-round of golf to join us - a real treat.
The Westamerica/County Bank transformation is nearly complete, according to Pamela Swift - Regional Vice President & Regional Marketing Manager for the bank. She says August is the completion forecast when the two companies' systems will become one and extraneous branches will be merged together. "All-in-all it should be smooth," says Swift about the process that began early this year.
Thanks for all of your participation and entrepreneurship, and thanks for getting to know your fellow members. We look forward to seeing all of you at the June mixer at Fresno Piano on First and Ashlan. And remember - business is best when you Buy Local!
